Voting Matters in ALL Elections
If You Think Your Vote Doesn’t Matter You Are VERY Wrong!
Voting Matters to a Democratic Government! With the current state of our United States Government, we must be sure to make our voice heard at the polls so we protect our rights over the coming years. We must take the time to think carefully about each candidate and do our own research, then vote for the candidate who represents our freedoms best. It doesn’t stop there! We each need to WRITE to our representatives to tell them our wishes on a regular basis so they know how to vote in Congress. We cannot leave it up to greedy corporations and wealthy “oligarchs” to tell our elected officials how to vote with their money.
If, like me, you are angry with the recent Roe-v-Wade decision handed down by the ultra-conservative Supreme Court, feel free to skip my personal opinion, and jump to the end of this article to links that will help you find your representatives.
The last 30 years the Republican Party has changed dramatically, and shifted to the far right. I want to be clear that I agree with most of the fiscal policies the platform for which the Republican Party stands, but I left that Party about the same time I left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons), in 1982, because their social policies are in direct conflict with mine. I could not agree with the Church or the Republican Party’s discrimination toward my being openly Gay. Furthermore, I am saddened by the “moral right” taking away the human rights of we Americans.

My Political Affiliation
I am no longer an affiliate of any party (I am registered as non-partisan). I do not believe in the “far -left” philosophies of the Democratic Party any more than the “far-right” philosophies of the Republican Party. In the last 40 years, since becoming non-partisan, I have voted for many candidates on each side after learning who funded their candidacy and researching their philosophies.
The political divide has always been with us, but what matters most to me – and I believe to most people – is to be free to live as I choose as long as it does not harm anyone else. We have that Constitutional right without interference from our Government or violence from radical thinking persons. I have worked hard to earn my retirement, and because of my personal battle with cancer and other financial circumstances, I now depend on Social Security – as MANY Americans do. Every working employee in this Country has paid into Social Security and it is our right to benefit from it in our retirement years. If we don’t take action in EVERY election, we stand to lose Social Security, healthcare and all other freedoms we have come to value.
Who Is Responsible For Inflation?
Be careful who you choose to believe! If you think a sitting President or our a current Congress is responsible you are sadly mistaken. Ian Bremmer gives us a clear picture of why there is global inflation in 2022: https://ianbremmer.bulletin.com/inflation-blame-game
I am proposing we all do two things consistently over the next six years to bring stability back to our wonderful United States of America. The first is to vote in ALL elections. Apathy will not help us. We must carefully consider which candidate is the best candidate to keep our freedoms — even if it means crossing party lines to do it. DO NOT BELIEVE advertising – much of it is backed by lies intended to frighten you. Do your research of the person and issues you vote for and know his/her philosophy before you cast your vote. The second is to write to your Congressmen and President to voice your desired opinions so they know what they need to do to stay in office.
